SP1 given FIA Approval (July 2006)
After extensive testing
SPEEDWELL is pleased to announce
the
SPEEDWELL Performance 1 (SP1) has now been granted the
full FIA Approval. After months of testing and lots of
interpretation to the regulations of the 8856-2000 standard,
SPEEDWELL is very pleased to have gained the full FIA
approval for their SP1. Throughout the testing process it
was found that some of the ‘testing processes’ were a little
vague and therefore requested additional information from
the FIA to ensure that the SP1 was tested to the highest
standards possible. As a result of these interpretations,
SPEEDWELL is very pleased to report that their SP1 conforms
to the up-to-date 8856-2000 standard.
The new SP1 is fire-proof and is a high-profile boot
suitable for all forms of motor racing from karting through
to Formula 1.
SPEEDWELL to sponsor D1GB and Time Attack
SPEEDWELL is pleased to announce their involvement with
two very exciting events the D1GB and Time Attack. The D1GB
is the biggest Drifting event in the UK which has become
very popular in recent years, following the motorsport
trends of Japan and interest from the infamous D1 Grand Prix
Series. The D1GB will be held at six different premier
locations around the UK and
SPEEDWELL will be on hand to
award prizes for the winners at each event.
The Time Attack events are dedicated to the UK’s finest
professionally tuned vehicles, all battling it out to see
just who is the quickest on circuit and under pressure. The
Time Attack Series is a circuit based calendar of events
whereby competitors drive hard against the clock to set the
quickest lap time around a circuit. Not only do they have
the task of doing this but they will be one of 35 cars and
drivers, specifically invited with pedigree to fight it out
alongside the industries finest, even including some
belonging to private individuals. Once again
SPEEDWELL will
be on hand to award prizes for the winners at each event.
The D1GB and Time Attack Series will run alongside and both
events provide a full-on action packed day of excitement
watching the UK’s best tuned cars and Europe’s finest drift
drivers.

SPEEDWELL is pleased to announce a

Event Dates
SPEEDWELL will be taking a break….. we will be back at
various events from mid-August onwards with the new SP1
along with some new
SPEEDWELL items. Keep checking the

Where to find
SPEEDWELL!
Rockingham – 28th May 2006
Speedwell will be attending the Drifting and Time Attach
event on 28th May 2006 at Rockingham Raceway. This will be
the first event of the UK Drift championship along with Time
Attach where spectators will see the UK’s finest
professionally tuned vehicles, all battling it out to see
just who is the quickest on the circuit and under pressure.
Silverstone – 17-18th June 2006

A Fun Day Out at Rockingham
Speedwell was at Rockingham at the Trackdays.com event at
the end of April. It was a great day out for all
including one of the Speedwell team who took to the track
in his Fiat Punto along side the Caterhams, Lotus’s and
Porches!
It was good to see so many people involved in track days
and thanks very much for all the positive feedback
received about our SP3’s - our most popular shoe for track
day drivers.
